wow and the closet racists come out. You know why it seems that we Black people call out racism all the time...BECAUSE WHITE PEOPLE ARE RACIST MOST OF THE TIME!

To say that people who get by with their race are morons is a pretty racist statement. Are you saying that Colin Powell is a moron, because yes he is a very intelligent man, but white America, like you all, will never see or appreciate that unless they were force to acknowledge it. He was appointed Secretary of State not only because he was smart but because he would make the Administration look integrated.

Please tell me who are these morons you speak of?

goodusername is right, race only exists in the social sense, biologically there is nothing that makes me different from a white person other than my pigmentation, hair texture, and eye color.

"Seperate, but equal" was wrong because things weren't equal. We cannot successfully as a society if we are separated, and I don't know any society in history that ever has.

I'm not even going to get into AA because I know some stupid, sheltered, ignorant children on CC complaining about moronic minorities being the reason they didn't get into their dream school is not going to change anything.

TrackBabi17, the fact that you use goodusername's "race doesn't exist" argument makes your own argument meaningless. if races don't exist, then why the heck are you arguing about it? why do you continue to label people as white people?

and actually, your claim that biologically there's nothing different is incorrect. blacks and whites look very different in terms of not only pigmentation, hair texture, eye color, but also facial features, genetic immune system, height, and various other physical features. intellectually, blacks as a race has on average a lower iq than whites.

would i be racist if i mention the previous fact just to make blacks feel bad? yes. would i be racist if i mention the previous fact to refute your argument that races don't exist? no. please don't label anything that disagrees with you as "racist". it's sad when you do that

"intellectually, blacks as a race has on average a lower iq than whites."
Wow you are a closet racist and you do not even know. You may not accept it now but just remember this when you're called out publicly in the future.

If you read my post I said race only exists in the social sense, Wiki it and you'll see that I am right. goodusername is right. the problem with society is that people do not understand that there are not any significant differences other than features, but still differences are made up, just as you did in your post.

And yes I will continue to call racist a racist.

You and I know damn well I'm not referring to all white people. But if I need to spell it out so that you can comprehend, fine, CERTAIN white people. And funny, you didn't even read that I was discussing white people in the U.S., not the entire world. So it wouldn't even have been possible for me to be referring to "all white people."

If we're going to play the blame game, the only people I'd point the finger to is the white people of America. White people in this country do such a good job at discriminating against colored people that even the white people of several other countries look down on white Americans.
[/quote]

Seemed pretty clear to me that you were referring to all white Americans ;).

TrackBabi17,

Racism no doubt still exists. Yet, to say that whites are racist “most” of the time harkens back to the day of black separatist nationalism. To say that “white America” will never see or appreciate that General Colin Powell is a very intelligent man not only shows your racialism, but it also disrespects the many Americans of all races who highly respect the former Secretary of State.

In addition, the Bush Administration does not need to “look” integrated. It is integrated. The Attorney General is Hispanic. The Secretary of Labor is Asian. The Secretary of State is black.

Separate but equal was not wrong because “things weren’t equal.” It was wrong because “separate but equal is inherently unequal.” I am surprised that you are not familiar with this famous assessment.

We indeed cannot survive as a society if we are separated. Hence, your reference to a “white America” does our society no good.

Few, if any, CC users “complain about moronic minorities being the reason they didn't get into their dream school.” The ones who are against racial preferences are against it based on principle, not hate.

iq's are different not because of genetics or science, but because of different culture and opportunity that resulted from oppression. There are wealthy, intelligent black people who have enough opportunities to exceed my level of intelligence, but the majority of the black race has been isolated in the inner cities, mostly by white employers and the trend of "white flight," making educational opportunities hard to come by.

Intellectually? It's not proven for a fact that I.Q. tests can accurately measure intelligence to begin with.

By the way, you are incorrect. Blacks as a race have been discriminated against in America in the most important aspects of American life (job placement, education, housing, etc.) and its effects are still seen today. If you didn't know this, well now you know.

Do you really expect blacks to score at par or above average with whites on a test that was created by the very race who denied them the education to do well on said test?

If you think race exists because of a segregated school system that puts blacks at a disadvantage, you are clearly deluded.

"To say that people who get by with their race are morons is a pretty racist statement. Are you saying that Colin Powell is a moron, because yes he is a very intelligent man, but white America, like you all, will never see or appreciate that unless they were force to acknowledge it.
"Wow you are a closet racist and you do not even know. You may not accept it now but just remember this when you're called out publicly in the future."

Don't you just love closet racists? They get to make racist comments and be considered not racist by their fellow closet racists.

"Few, if any, CC users “complain about moronic minorities being the reason they didn't get into their dream school.” The ones who are against racial preferences are against it based on principle, not hate."

Oh, it's more than a few.

Please tell me who are these morons you speak of?"

Apparently anyone who's not white.

Am I incorrect, or are you speaking of firefox?

fabrizio, I understand where you are coming from. And I suppose you misinterpreted my posts, because what I meant by a divided society being unsuccessful was that "Separate, but equal" is not equal. Please read it again to see that.

I understand that my statements are extreme, but I don't care to take them back. I'm not one to beat around the bush, especially since I'm saying this under an online alias.lol. But really I don't care these kids need to be told.

I did not mean to play down the intelligence or success of Rice, Powell or Gonzales, but it is true that without the help of AA and the previous equal rights reforms before it, they and many Black people would not be allowed to be as successful as they are. The Bush Administration is also integrated, if you call two main minorities in the Admin integrated, because of this as well.

pistons i believe secretfire was referring to the closest racist, who is firefox in case he hasn't accepted that he is racist yet

Yep.
That means that we should get rid of separate but equal male/female sports teams, separate but equal male/female washrooms, etc and replace them with unisex sports teams, unisex washrooms, etc.

WE MUST KEEP THE GINGERS FROM GOING TO COLLEGE, THEY ARE INFERIOR

-bleed more
-sacrificed more often
-ugly
-pose the threat of contracting "gingeritis"

TrackBabi it doesn't matter what you say, they won't have a word of it.

true Armando, but maybe our moronic, low IQ selves need to accept that we don't deserve to go to school with all those smart white people. We shouldn't go to their colleges, and when they kick us out we can't call racism. Oh well :p

Does anyone find it interesting that there has never been any argument about applying AA to athletics? Perhaps a root of the problem is culture. While I admittedly have little experience with conditions in the inner city, I can state that in my hometown at least 1 in four students my age believes firmly that their future will be in professional athletics, be it basketball, baseball, running, or any other mainstream sport. The bottom line is: it won't happen. I encourage dreaming, but when I help at a convention which features some of the most intelligent middle schoolers in my county, and more than half of the boys there believe they will be professional athletes... there is a problem. Another disturbing trend is that all black students are labeled as "super athletes" by their peers. As soon as my classmates see a black student partake in track, they immediately assume that person to be superior. Often, they are correct. I frequently wonder if the pressure to live up to such stereo types is in fact the cause of a great deal of the education gap between students of different races. While these stereotypes may have small biological origins, after a time I think they become self driven. So, I feel that rather than throw AA, more money, or more resources at inner city schools, time should be spent trying to reverse the stereotypes that cause so many students to forsake their true abilities to pursue a basketball or track scholarships, because being "black" they must be good. Once these "racial roles" are eliminated,IMHO, racism will truly be defeated in our culture.

Minorities tend to go for sports because they know they can't afford college and don't know about available scholarships to them and such.

hahaha all i observe is a bunch of twelve year old kids acting self-righteous and calling everyone else racist. ya see, if you were calling me stupid or gay or some offensive words i can report your post because of your rudeness. but what happens today is people get away with calling someone else "a racist", because by doing so they feel so self-righteous and lofty and important and correct. well, here's news for you.

YOU ARE A COMMUNIST.

don't you dare deny it. you are a closet communist. hey look! i'm patriotic, but you are communist!! let's make claims without citations and let's ignore other people's argument. whatever! you are a communist!

(by the way, for those too busy calling others racist to comprehend, this post is supposed to point out the folly in making unsubstantiated and immature accusations)
