SVA info please

DD is looking at SVA at the suggestion of the admissions counselor at SAIC. I have been looking at some posts that refer to SVA as pricey. However, I find the tuition to be less than MCAD ($29,500), MECA ($27,550) or SAIC ($34,200). Is it the housing that makes it pricey? Or is it comparison to public colleges? Is there a public college that has the same ambience of an art college at a lower cost? She definitely does NOT want the big campus experience, and definitely wants a BFA in Illustration. MCAD is currently her 1st choice. Ideas please?

No response? Not even from TaxGuy??

If you live in the New England area you might want to take a look at MassArt. They have lower tuition rates for New England residents.

Virginia commonwealth U may be another option.

FIT is a public art school that she might want to look into. Don’t know any specifics about the illustration program, but it is a well respected design school. It’s in the same general area of Manhattan as SVA.
