Gosh… this is surprisingly hard to say even though I knew Swarthmore had such a low acceptance rate, but Rejected.
Daughter rejected. Major legacy so we were hoping, but she just didn’t have the grades so it’s no surprise. I’m kind of relieved – it’s not the same school I went to thirty years ago. Too intense and competitive, and I actually think she’ll be happier elsewhere (and already has several great acceptances). Good luck everyone, wherever you end up!
rejected:)
Rejected
Rejected!
Another rejection!
Rejected. My dream school is Bryn Mawr though so if I can get in there I’ll be happy
Rejected. I knew it was coming but still hurts
Waitlisted. First waitlist of the decision season, but accepted at WashU with a full ride yesterday so not too discouraged. Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!!
rejected
Waitlisted. I was waitlisted at Williams and Grinnell ( ) too.
I would be mortified right now if it weren’t for my scholarship offer from Duke. The application season sucks for an international asking for full aid.
lol got rejected too
I actually thought my kid had a chance even though I knew it was slim. Great test scores for both AP and ACT (35), taking college sophomore math courses at the university with A’s, fluent in Japanese, symphony violinist, black belt in Taekwondo, near perfect GPA, excellent essays, great letters. So, yeah, it’s quirky, isn’t it? But the weird thing is that she’s already decided this wasn’t her top choice because her interviewer said there was no balance there, that it was all work all the time. But her top choice is also really hard to get into (Barnard)!
@Happytoapply is the interviewer current student or alumnus?
I didn’t think I would get accepted

STATUS: Rejected
Rejected!!! Not too surprised since I could tell that I was not quite the right fit for this school. I agonized over the WHY Swarthmore essay, I couldn’t quite find one. I am sure that they realized this. I was also rejected from the Discover Swarthmore fly-in but was given a fee waiver so thought, “what the heck, might as well give it a go.” So overall this is much less of a problem for me than my waitlist at UChicago.
Rejected

My rec letters were from teachers who I had strong bonds with.
I’m an international student from Venezuela and come from a low income family due to the economic crisis in the country… I needed a lot of financial aid.
Congrats to those of you who got in. I wish you the best.
What the heck?? How did you get rejected?!
Haha! Thanks for that @fhhg890. Glad to see at least someone liked my accomplishments best of luck to you wherever you end up
