@stillcatchingup There are in 42 minutes.
Its already 11:19 in my country and im not feeling sleepy at all, because of the decision.
Good luck kiddos. I’m rooting for all of you. (as long as you promise to be nice to my kid if he gets in too)
haha!
Goodluck from me too. Why you guys would sign up to go to a school that obliterates life outside of academics is beyond me, but my daughter has applied as well, and yes, goodluck to all of you! In my book, the very fact that you want to sign up for Swarth makes you special.
If you don’t get in, you’ll have an easier life almost anywhere else you choose to go - so it’s all good!
My sister claims that the sweat culture is all a myth propagated by Swatties to make them seem superior. She was valedictorian or salutatorian or something like that and she also found time to arrange concerts and play several club sports. Of course this was years ago.
rejected
that was honestly the nicest rejection letter though
Rejected 1530 SAT, 3.93 UW GPA, 4.64 W. Swarthmore essay wasn’t that good.
Oh well, I wasn’t expecting to get in. I don’t think it would be a good fit for me anyways, and I have other schools higher up on my list.
My daughter was accepted! She is thrilled!

s. So sad, but I already expected it. The rejection letter was nice though.
I had the opportunity to speak with a couple of students when we visited last year. They were from magnet competitive high schools in their areas. They were stressed out, and said they had known this coming into Swarth, but they still didn’t expect it to be as hard as it was to get the grades. It was exam week, and as a mom I could tell the pain was real.
I am sure it differs by major somewhat, and personality matters as well… but you kids work way too hard these days.
Accepted!! 4.69 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted), 1540 SAT, 35 ACT, average EC, DiscoSwat attendee
Waitlisted. 33 ACT, 3.92 unweighted/4.7 weighted, decent ECs, family connection. Kiddo is stressed, he wanted a clear yes or no.
Rejected, international student.
31 ACT, prospective Chemistry major
With wide range of ECs and academic honours.
Accepted!
GPA: 4.0 UW
ACT: 34 (35 superscore)
Attended DiscoSwat and very excited!!
Congrats to everyone else and good luck with finishing up this stressful process!!
@stillcatchingup When D started the application cycle, Swarthmore was her first choice. After doing more research and emailing back and forth with a few current students, she’s unsure if she’d be able to achieve the work-life balance she desires in college. She loves learning, and she’s used to working hard, however, she also wants to have time to join clubs and ensembles while she’s in college. Although she’s very happy about being accepted, she’s now faced with the reality of it all.
I was rejected with 31 ACT, 1420 SAT, 3.85 UW , 4.3/4 W GPA. Took 12 APs, had good ECs, LORs, etc. Honestly I’m not surprised or sad, it wasn’t really the best fit.
accepted! 4.0 UW, 34 ACT
