Does Swarthmore use the SAT WriTING as a SAT II or dont look at it at all

You should call or e-mail the admissions office.

"Swarthmore is a college that values writing. As such, as new administrations of the SAT reasoning test and the ACT with writing component occur, we will be collecting information to help us evaluate how to best use the new writing components in our selection process."

SAT IIs don't exist anymore. I don't know what it means to look at a score like an SAT II.

chronicidal, SAT IIs do still exist, though they're now called Subject Tests. There used to be a Writing Subject Test which was required by Swarthmore (and some other top colleges), however it was replaced by the Writing portion of the SAT.

The OP should contact the college for the official line on the subject, but I think the word on the street is that by now it does "count"--exactly how or how much is something we'll never really know, just like we don't know exactly how much the SATs themselves factor into any particular admissions decisions.
