It doesn't look like there were a ton of EDII kids (how many are accepted EDII?) but it is always wonderful to meet more Swatties. :)

Congratulation, commongi! Nice Job!

The official notification day is Feb 1st...so we should still be able to see more swatties fairly soon :) And yep, join arador's website!

has anyone received their decision by email?
i will have a mental breakdown if swarthmore does not email the decisions soon.

abhay-

Only international students get notification through email.
Swarthmore averages out about 23 enrolled international students every year while 8 have already been admitted through ED I (this year). Assume the enrollment rate is same for intnl student (40%), this leaves about 15 * 100 /40 = 37 intnl students accepted and 15 attending from ED II and RD. Of the 37, only 6-8 intnl swatties are accepted under ED II. And of the 6-8, how many come to visit College Confidential? hmm....

Wish you hear the good news soon...

Waiting with baited breath - has Abhay heard from Swarthmore? :)
The total silence is deafening....Nepal has it share of problems at the moment too...total lockdown, for example.

Peace in the world....

In reading the news, I immediately thought of Abhay and of the many Nepalese students at Swarthmore.

Not to my credit, of course, but I hadn't noticed the news about Nepal. I looked it up immediately after reading the above posts. So another wonderful thing about my daughter's acceptance at Swarthmore is that is has widened my own screen of the world.

If this had happened during winter break, then the kids would not be able to go home. I heard that planes were being turned back, including planes from Bangkok and India. Pretty bad for a first-year kid on his/her own in a foreign country. :(

... especially since it seems nobody here can be in contact with their family since the phone and internet lines have been severed. :(

i got in. im so happy.

And I'm very happy for you, Abhay. Congratulations!

i heard from my senior at swarthmore attending the class of 2008 that there are 2 acceptances from nepal

"Even as an eery silence prevailed in the capital and surrounding areas amidst heavy deployment of security personnel, telephones were allowed to operate locally for about five hours during the day and two hours in the night. However, international telephone facilities, mobile phone and internet services remained suspended, isolating Nepal from the rest of the world."
