I’m a little nervous for the swim test, even though I run 5-9 miles every other day and know how to swim. It’s the backstroke that gets me worried; I can do it, but I just recently learned it. Could I, like, swim on my back but kinda like push the water away from me; in other words, kick with my legs and gently push water away. I’ve swam before and I know how to swim, it’s just I’m feeling a little anxious. Thanks!
That’s all that matters; there are not bonus points for technique.
Speed doesn’t matter either. Just get to the other side.
@skieurope so would it be alright if I could just kick backwards and push water? Also if I needed to rest, where should I do that? Could I make it to the other side and just not hang on the wall, but like move my arms and feet and stay afloat until I’m ready?
It has to be a continuos swim. No stopping and resting on the wall or on the ropes. If you tread water to rest, you are actually expending too much energy and it makes you more tired. Speed does not matter. Just take your time. One length on your front, one on your back, and one of your choice. My D passed hers, but she said there were a few from her time slot that did not pass. The life guards will let you know. You should be fine, just don’t let your feet touch the bottom. That’s not allowed.
You don’t
No resting allowed. It’s a 75 yard continuous swim.
I didn’t pass it the first time. I took the class for three weeks and passed the test today. He said I can drop the class now. After the swimming class the test was a breeze.
Congrats @DaedricSaiyan! Curious, do you have to add a gym class now?
If you drop the swim class now, will you still satisfy the PE requirement or are you already enrolled in a second PE course?
He said if I dropped the class I’d get a 30 dollar fine but I can add another class. I’m just going to stay in the swim class as I know the people in the class already and it’s pretty fun.
Thanks everyone !
