Switch Majors From Asian Studies To Economics and Accounting?

Hello, I am currently a High School senior who will be going to UCSB. I got in for Asian Studies, however I have recently been considering switching my major to econ/accounting at UCSB. I am wondering how difficult this would be to do? They are both within the college of letters and science.

email the admissions people and ask them if you can switch majors. include your perm number in the email too

Go read the economics dept page about declaring the major. It explains what you need in order to be admitted into the major.

Frosh are not accepted into the major, they are called “pre-majors” which means, basically, nothing. Anyone, with any listed major or pre-major, can sign up for the required classes to enter econ/accounting. Including you when you go to orientation this summer.

If it makes you feel more comfortable to have your records list you as “pre-econ” you can easily do it; if not at orientation, then during the school year. But it changes nothing about your chances to get into the actual major. You only can apply for the major when you have finished all the requirements.
