Hey, so I'm an entering freshman but I have a lot of community college courses that transferred over already. The thing is, I randomly chose Roosevelt and now I regret it because my a lot of my transferable courses aren't applicable GEs. I don't really want to take 6 courses of Making of the Modern World, and I think that if I go to a different college like Muir or Sixth I would be able to use some more of my transferable courses for the GEs.

So my question is, am I able to transfer out of my college? When can I do so?

Search the archives this has def been discussed!

Switching colleges is not impossible but is extremely difficult to do.
You will need to be at UCSD for at least 2 quarters before attempting to switch. Don’t worry though… ERC is great and you’ll likely end up enjoying it.

I am in ERC, went to the orientation, and liked it super good.

Don’t worry mate, I am in the same boat as you are, I have about 58 Community College credits but I wonder how much will I actually use. Whateva, I could care less.

Random choices have consequences. Sadly. Each college may not be a good fit for everyone. Now as freshman, you have more time to make up the additional GE/breadth requirements. As a transfer, the burden some colleges place may be more demanding.
