So I was admitted to UCSD into Eleanore Roosevelt College, but wanted to go to John Muir or Thurgood Marshall. I read that if someone wanted to switch colleges he/she should either get good grades for the first year and then submit something to switch or someone could find someone who is attending that college and would want to switch with you. So i was wondering if anyone who plans to attend UCSD or is attending right now would like to switch with me.

For those who were wondering, I would like to switch Muir or Marshall because I am a science major and it'll be easier on my GE requirements if i attended one of these.

Thanks

the whole “if you can find someone to take your place at your college, you can switch colleges with them” is a myth right?

Short answer, @Pestilence10: you have to remain in your college for a year and complete your writing program, then fill out a **** ton of paper work and then attempt to transfer. It’s not an easy process and barely anyone actually does it. You should definitely give ERC a try, people usually fall in love with their college!

And yes the switching colleges thing by finding someone else who wants into ERC is false information.

^Yeah, I’ve never heard that as being true. You HAVE to finish ERC’s writing course before you can switch.

Even if you get cleared to switch, they won’t let you actually switch until one year later.
And it’s a b*tch trying to get approved, because you have to prove to them that you can graduate faster by making the switch, while factoring in the one year period where you are remaining in your home college T__T

they really don’t want us to switch lol
