Switching Departments after admissions ??

For some reason i am applying to Electrical Engineering major i.e the ECE deparment in priority filling period . Assume i get accepted and then i want to switch to Computer Science major ..then is it possible ????

Yes, as long as you have the courses required by the department and you do well in them, you will be able to switch to anything. Some majors WILL be more competitive, for example, to switch into some Engineering majors, you need a 3.8 GPA, while others require a 3.0.
You will not be able to switch until after your 1st year, however.

If question goes to when you can try to make a change, the answer is that you must stay assigned to the major you are admitted to until completion of first year of college and thus can first apply for a transfer during second semester of first year for change effective beginning of sophomore year.

if i apply for change in second semester and get transfered in sophomore year, then what about the classes that i missed of cs major which were held in the first year ??

is it that first year for all engineering majors is almost the same and the major specific classes start at the sophomore year ???

There are no classes for majors held in first year. Pretty much every class you take your first year will be standard for the whole school - English, Math, Science, Ect. The only difference would be an introductory class, and you should be able to get an override from an adviser for those.

For example, compare Aerospace Engineering’s first year with Electrical Engineering’s:

Aerospace:

Electrical:

ok thanks …that helped …
