Hi, I applied for Biomedical Engineering in Rutgers, and I was accepted. However, I have been thinking about going into chemical engineering rather than biomedical engineering. Can I switch from biomedical engineering to chemical engineering before I begin my classes this fall? Thanks!

First of all, you didn’t “apply for Biomedical Engineering in Rutgers.” You applied for Rutgers School of Engineering, and you got accepted. Congratulations. You are not part of the BME department yet until you formally select your major at the end of the 2nd semester of your freshman year. Until then, your major is “General Engineering.” Just because you say you’re going to major in Biomedical Engineering when you apply to Rutgers doesn’t automatically make you a Biomedical Engineering student ._.

So yes, you can choose your major as Chemical Engineering at the end of your 2nd semester of your freshman year :)

Alright, thanks for the help! :)
