Switching from Biology to Engineering. Is it possible at these schools?

D is considering changing her major from Biology to Engineering (not sure yet what area of engineering yet) and we wonder how hard it is to do this at the following schools: UCLA, UCSB, Cal Poly SLO, UW. She is going to visit all of them and will ask that question on her visit but just looking for some input from the CC community. She was accepted at Santa Clara as an engineering major but at the others as a biology major. She really likes both. Thanks for any input you may have.

Try searching for “[school name] change major engineering” to find out how difficult it would be.

Ok thanks!

Cal Poly SLO would probably the hardest to switch, that is why you are asked to declare a major on your application. It is easier to switch within your college than to switch from the College of Letters and Sciences to the College of Engineering. I would definitely ask each college you visit.
