I noticed the requirements to get in to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences are much easier than the normal university. Would it be possible to apply in to the college and then switch majors in to the university after being admitted? The website provides little information.
Thanks
What major do you really want to be in? It is possible to change after admittance but it really depends on the major. The “high demand” majors would be much more difficult to transfer into. Years ago my S applied as a engineering major and was accepted. After giving it more thought, he decided to switch to the College of Natural Resources. It was an easy switch because he was not trying to get into a high demand major. Were he trying to go the opposite way (which is what you seem to want) it might not have happened.
You would need to talk to the people in the office of admissions. You would need to talk to them before the fall semester starts. It would be very risky to try to double cross the university and possibly end up with a major you don’t want.
@PackMom I’m interested in majoring in Political Science, and from what I can tell, that isn’t one of the more popular majors.
We were advised that it is not easy to switch colleges after admission. My son was able to switch majors after admission but before acceptance by sending an email to Admissions.
