Switching Roommates.

Is it possible to switch roommates before move-in? My and my requested roomie didn't end up together. She somehow ended up with a single while I got a double.

I know, I should probably get to know my current roomie but I was so excited to get my requested roomie and it bums me out that we didn't get paired together. BTW, before you guys start telling me that it's not a good idea to room with your friends... I've only been talking to my requested roomie for a few months through FB. So technically we don't know each other too well but we'd still like to room together.

Do you think there's any chance we can still change it? Or at least change her single into a double?

Hmm that’s odd… usually they give out the singles to the ones who requested them.

Contact housing, worth a shot.

btw thats bs about not rooming with a friend… why would you not room with a friend?? obviously if theyre your friend you guys get along. so why would it be bad thing? fights? no. get tired of them? maybe. but ultimately you feel comfortable and trust your friends so i dont see how it is a bad thing.

im sorry to hear about to the roomie mix up. that would be one of my worst fears to have someone you want to room with and they tell you yes but end up pairing you with someone else. ugh! anyways, i would call the housing office for wherever you are living and explain the situation. best of luck.

Hi there,
I work at the front desk at the Mesa Court housing office and we get so many of these calls. It’s just difficult to accommodate everyone’s requests seeing as how Mesa Court alone has 1947 residents (not counting the staff- RA, CP, etc).
If you want to request a change, call the Res-life coordinator, Jonathan Lim, directly at 949-824-6768 or call the housing office and ask to be transferred to him.
