Currently I attend a private Catholic school. I have above a 4.0 and am in all honors classes except 1 and I’m in one AP class. I plan to go abroad senior year and when I come back I’m considering doing my senior year at my public school. I’ll have all but 2 credits done so I’d get to choose more electives and AP classes. However my mom is worried that universities won’t like that I switched to public school and we aren’t sure what my grades will be when they transfer. Does anyone have any insight to this? If I don’t go to public school I’ll do my senior year at the same private school.
Hi, nontraditional means you had a gap of 5 years from high school to college. So you can post in the regular admission and college search forums which are busier. But to answer your question, no college will care that you switched school for your final year. People have all kinds of reasons they may need for that–don’t have the money, want academic freedom etc all valid.
I would strongly recommend finishing your coursework this year if all you need is 2 credits. There are plenty of fully- accredited online high schools for this, such as FLVS, and it will save you a good deal of time and energy unless you think you’d truly enjoy another year of high school.
Hi, I was considering that but then wouldn’t I get a GED instead? It’s more credits to graduate from my private school, only 2 for public school.
it would depend on if you school would accept the credits or not, if they do, they would simply show up on your transcript, and wouldn’t affect your graduation at all.
