If you are offered the Engineering and Computer Science Leadership Scholar Award as part of admission letter, does that mean you will also be invited to join the ECS Leadership Scholar’s Program (which apparently includes further benefits, beyond the scholarship $)? Are they one and the same?
@bpsulliv I haven’t seen any RD engineering acceptances yet. Did you receive good news??
acceptance into ECS, w/ major of CS.
My son was also offered the Engineering and Computer Science Leadership Scholar Award as part of admission letter. I didn’t much information on the award, so I am also wondering if there will be more information given.
@bpsulliv when my D was accepted to SU in 2017 she was invited to the ECS Scholarship Leadership program, which included the scholarship along with admission into the honors program along with a paid summer research opportunity ( while in college).
Thanks for info. Is your D there now? If so, positive experience thus far?
Yes she is at SU, mostly positive, the courses are challenging but there is support, especially freshmen year. My D is actually working as a physics coach ( she helps out the teaching assistant in the recitation sections - and gets paid!). There is lots to do socially, of course Greek life, but also there are late night school sponsored activities every weekend, and there’s all the sporting events.
Im not so happy with the level of security on and around campus. From my perspective, incidents happen, students ask for change, security issues a statement ( a reiteration of their policy), but no increased security presence.

thanks for the feedback. something for us to consider.
I’m an accepted leadership scholar into ECS Bioengineering and there does seem to be some other benefits besides money. You seem to get priority everything when at the school.
