I hope he loves it as much as my son did! He was worried about the 2 campuses, but after seeing it in person, he thought it was one of the biggest pluses. He said itâs the best of both worlds: the college campus experience as well as the city experience.
If your son decides on DePaul, thereâs a FB group for incoming freshman so they can find kids w similar interests, in their major, etc. They can get to know their future classmates and find people they want to room with.

We did the Loop tour, the Admitted Freshman & Lincoln Park Tour and the CineSpace Tour. I highly recommend going on all 3 to fully appreciate the university, CDM, and all the resources at your sonâs fingertips
Congratulations to your S and may he have the best experience at DePaul.
My S had the same situation in 2021, he chose Syracuse. He also did not get into Chapman for Acting BFA. Devastating at the time. I donât think I will ever get over that rejection. We live in Bay Area, CA and I always saw my S at Chapman.
Though, Syracuse has turned out to be the perfect place for him to study in the VPA Acting BFA. We truly love this school.

Is anyone else still waiting on financial aid? We check MySlice several times a day and the Financial Aid box still shows 2023 You have no financial Aid Awards at this time.

Yes! I did a zoom chat today and was told our file was being finalized and should be uploaded by end of week. Daughter accepted on 3/19.

I just called today and they said the waitlisted will hear in June. That is ridiculously late. I guess itâs time for my daughter to move on.

Surprising that they will not move people from the waitlist earlier if a number of students do not accept their offers. With so many students applying to so many more schools, we are being told by two other schools that we can expect to see movement from the waitlist the first week of May, if not sooner.
Iâm so sorry if your daughter was holding out for Syracuse. This has been such a rough year.

I would follow up with the Admissions office. Maybe they think something is missing from your application, maybe not, but at this point you really need to know the decision.

Yep, same here. I called at the end of last week and they said it could be another week. She said theyâre working around the clock and weekends but just really backed up. She also said they go in order of FA paperwork being marked complete, not by acceptance date. My daughter was accepted on March 12th but apparently her FA docs were submitted later than a lot of other students.
My daughterâs financial paperwork was submitted in Dec and all complete so I donât believe they are going in any order. Very frustrated at this point and myslice isnât working today.

Hard to view this as anything other than a train wreck at this point. Way too late in the process to be waiting for this. We have already lost housing and roommate opportunities at other schools while we wait to find out if Syracuse is even financially feasible for us. If we donât have our financial aid from Syracuse sorted by the end of this week, we are scratching it off our list of options.

My daughter called today and spoke with someone who said they would review her package and email her. Well that was at noon and we havenât heard from anyone yet and nothing updated on MySlice
