Syracuse Deposit?

Ok, this is for a friend. It is 11:30pm, and she needs to make her deposit. Is there any way Syracuse has an online deposit?!!!!! Because...she will not be able to mail her forms in time!!!!!! Is there anything she can do?!!!!! Thanks!!!! She really wants to go here!!! But unfortunately, due to her busy senior schedule, she hasnt had time to verify if there was an online site to deposit and enroll!!!!!!!!

please help she is desperate!!!

I dont think so… the book said to mail a check for $850 by mail and never mentioned a way to pay electronically. C’mon she’s had what, three to four weeks hasn’t she?

JamesLee90 don’t be so judgmental. Not everyone can come up with $850 like that. I’d say send an email to admissions stating that their would be a delay in the deposit so they would at least know that you are planning to enroll rather than erasing your name off the roster or something of that nature. Do this ASAP.

you’re right London. I apologize for what ive said

Actually James Lee raises a very good point, and I don’t think he did it in a harsh way. I hope that waiting until the last minute to confirm your place doesn’t turn out poorly for you. I would suggest calling Admissions first thing Monday morning and speak with a person rather than just leaving a message on their machine. Hopefully they will be able to work with you, but if it’s too late you will have learned a valuable life lesson. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

“Actually James Lee raises a very good point,”

Please explain how.

“I hope that waiting until the last minute to confirm your place doesn’t turn out poorly for you.”

It sounds like you’re actually criticizing the OP more than sympathizing.

“Hopefully they will be able to work with you, but if it’s too late you will have learned a valuable life lesson.”

Like I mentioned before, you shouldn’t be so judgemental. The OP probably did not have the funds immediately to pay the deposit.

Well let me just start off by saying that I never meant to be harsh. The reality is that you have 3-4 weeks to make the commitment. If you cant even spare $850 in that span how do you plan to pay for an expensive though generous school like Syracuse? I don’t know the whole story with asseenontv’s friend, so I should not be judgmental. However, I was never meant to be harsh …

JamesLee… I completely understand and agree with where you’re coming from. To me, it seems that HOL is being a bit harsh to you. This poster often is on many threads.

But either way, to get back to the point, and to help asseenontv out… I believe at the bottom of one of the pages in the acceptance package, there is very fine print regarding this situation. I’m pretty sure it says something along the lines of writing a letter as to why payment was not made. Although, I do believe it also said all completed paper work must be postmarked by May 1st along with the letter. Did your friend do this at least?

JamesLee I definitely didnt think you were being harsh. It wasn’t that serious. Sorry if I came off a little too strong. That wasn’t my intention.

It’s all good, I’ve accepted everything as good constructive criticism =) If anything we should get back to try helping asseenontv’s friend.

My suggestion: if your friend has intentions to goto SU send the $850 right away. Though the deadline is 5/1 and it’s a first come first serve basis, if they have space the school will give you housing

thanks for all the help. i hope she will be able to go!

the problem with this generation, is that we have so much school work that no one has time for ANYTHING. she had to visit syracuse the monday before may 1 decision and did not decide until tues/wed. she also had a ton of rehearsals and work and school work to catch up on…

i know a lot of ppl in her situation (not being able to make a decision until may 1st)

asseesontv, I can empathize. I was so inundated with trying to get into college and enrolling that my grades began to sink. Senior year was extremely stressful for most if not everybody in my class.

And it Looks like enrollment fees shot up by $100. Last year when I enrolled it was $750 total.
