Syracuse ED 2018 Thread

I just called ADM and they said mid-end of December. I truly think the 20th (Friday) is when we will find out. Do schools usually tell students when they are sending out decisions?

no but syracuse generally does ED in two waves

I applied ED to Newhouse for Advertising! I have a 92.1 (3.7ish) unweighted and a 31 ACT! Good luck to everybody :)

I have a 93.5 UW gpa and 1830 SAT
Class Rank: 3
ECs include: Varsity Soccer 9,10,11,12 team captain (12)
Varsity Hockey 10,11,12
Varsity Golf 10,11,12 team captain (11,12)
Newspaper 11,12 editor-in-chief (12)
National Honor Society 11,12
Student Council 11,12
Senior Class President

Again, good luck to everyone! Feels like this will be a long month.

I just got an email off them saying they can’t specify a date, so the idea that someone would get an email giving one is interesting to say the least…

I was on the phone with my admissions counselor today regarding the dates and she said some people would receive decisions on the 16th (some of the people who turned in their apps before the Dec. 1 deadline)

ED results were sent out on Friday for the past 3 years…
2012: Friday December 14
2011: Friday December 16
2010: Friday December 17

If syracuse stays with this pattern they should be sending out decisions on December 13. Due to the delayed ed deadline the pattern could be broken but I believe that if we don’t hear by the 13th we will definitely hear on the 16th…

Just my $0.02

The added an option to apply ED II.

ugh, i don’t really understand why, either. they already pushed a late ED deadline (compared to other schools) back by two weeks when it was pretty unnecessary…

I don’t think it makes a huge difference

Did anyone apply ED to Whitman? and if so what are your stats?

Hi guys,

I applied ED to Magazine Journalism in Newhouse; I have been dreaming of going to Newhouse for quite awhile now so I am super nervous. Admissions called me yesterday asking if I wanted to interview via Skype. I was a bit confused because they said they’re conducting interviews till Dec. 20th but we’re supposed to be receiving decisions mid-December?

I’m wondering if interviewing now will push back they’re decision. Regardless, I said I would be happy to do one on Friday. Has anyone else had an interview with SU? I am nervous about the Skype aspect so I would be curious to see how someone else’s went?

I know technically we’re each others competition but good luck on admissions! Maybe some of us will be on campus together this coming fall.

Hey everyone! I just applied early decision as well, its safe to say I’m not feeling too confident :frowning: could everyone please share their stats so I can compare them to my own?! I’m banking on my essay to get me in… It basically explains the obstacles I have triumphed over throughout my life and how I will not let them inhibit where I plan to go. I hope Syracuse gives me a shot at allowing me to start a new chapter of my life at their university! Good luck to everyone!

So I Interviewed over the summer and I thought it was extremely beneficial to my application! So I would do It!

I will! Thank you :)

Hey all,

I just checked my MySlice and it says I’m missing my:

HS Counselor Evaluation
Discovery Florence Application
ED Commitment Contract
Undergrad Recommendation 2
SU CA Writing Supplement

I submitted EVERYTHING on the Common App.

I talked to them today, they said myslice isn’t up to date because of holiday break. Maybe just give them a call tomorrow to double check!

This may be a dumb question but do you think there is any possible way I can call and change my second and third choice of major?

I’m sure you can. You’re supposed to e-mail them if you want to change something in your application.

Would calling be a better idea? What are the easiest programs to get accepted into? I’m sorry for bombarding you with so many questions
