Hi everyone! I, like almost everyone else here, is anxiously awaiting my decision. I applied to Newhouse with TRF as my first choice. I submitted my application in mid-November and also did the interview. For those asking, I’d highly recommend an interview as it really is your best chance to show them who you are as a person. Only so much can be gleaned from merely reading about you… Good luck to all!

CAS is probably the easiest school to get into. I don’t know about the selectivity of any specific programs.

Did anyone send in their quarter grades? I thought it wasn’t required but I got an email yesterday from an admissions officer saying they had reviewed my application and needed my first quarter grades to make a decision. My gpa is really low, especially for Whitman,I have like a 2.95 but my ACT score was a 30. I’m super nervous and not sure if they did that with everyone.

@xobrianna21

I called admissions and they told me I didn’t need to send in senior grades, which was weird, because everybody’s been saying that we do need to send them.

I ended up just faxing my report card.

How are your first quarter grades? And is it bad that I haven’t sent in my SAT scores yet? I’m taking it again this Saturday and then I’m just going to rush send them through collegeboard

I’ve had a ~3.6 this semester compared to a cumulative 3.11 from 9th-11th.

I honestly can’t answer your question about the SAT, you’d have to ask admissions about that…

Yeah I was really confused because I read through the while ED 2017 thread and they all sent theirs

Someone please read my essay and tell me if I have a shot I’m buggggin out. This would be a dream if I got into this school
2.85
1650

Even if you’re not able to send your scores on time, you can still apply for ED ll. You’d get your decision by the end of January.

Wait there’s an ED ll? I thought you just get deferred to regular decision if you don’t get accepted as an ED

And would anyone be willing to read my essay as like a chance me type of deal hahah

@dreamingofcuse96 My first quarter grades are great, I have straight A’s and my gpa from freshman to junior year is a 2.96 so I think it looks really well. Have you sent them any scores at all? Is that most recent test just trying to beat out the other score or is it all you have?

@xobrianna21 no I haven’t sent them any because my scores from October are ugly lol. I hope to have at least a 1650 (super score) after this upcoming Saturday! Maybe I should take the ACT as well? My gpa from freshman through junior is a 2.85. And my grades from first quarter of this year are all A’s and B’s

@dreamingofcuse96 ED II is new, the deadline is January 1st, but if they don’t have your test scores I don’t think they can make a decision. When is/was your most recent test?

Also, I was wondering when people sent in their apps? Is the first wave of decisions sent out going to be the first people who sent it in? The pushed back deadline is already so late and 1000+ apps is a lot to have gone through in like 3+ weeks

@xobrianna21 so if I don’t get in ED l could I apply for ED ll? My most recent scores are from October but I canttttt send them they’re so bad. But I am taking it again this Saturday. I sent in my app December 1 hahahahh

@dreamingofcuse96 I’m not sure how that would work, you’d have to probably call/email the school and see what they want. But I feel like if you’re still trying for regular ED that bad scores are better than nothing if this is the only app they’re letting you submit

They said I could send my scores from this weekend I’ll just hear back later but I feel like I’m ****ing them off lol

hahahah I mean they said it was okay. When was the last time you talked to them?

Today haha and yesterday, one admissions officer said I had to send my other scores and then two other officers said I could just send Saturdays scores and not the other ones
