@mytwobuoys Same boat here. Our son was accepted to VPA for film, but even with merit $$ it’s impossible to justify the cost given his other options. I really think Syracuse’s cost is overpriced. Shame.

@byadg123 Yes she has visited both Newhouse and Northeastern CAMD - both excellent! so she is going back to visit again on accepted student days - NU this Saturday and Syracuse in April - Own the Dome event on April 15/16th. We’ll see - no clear leader on this choice as yet - D watching lots of videos and doing research with past students.

Im international and got my letter on 16th of February with 1870 scholarship award, so the hishest award is clearly not 28 k

My son applied back in late October for early decision but was deferred and still has not heard back.
@collegemom38 my son also applied ED and was also deferred. Didn’t hear back on Friday and is very upset because others in his school were admitted on fri. Which school did your son apply to? Does he know others that were deferred? Admissions claims this is all random. Idk. Really hope deferment doesn’t turn into rejection. It’s cruel

i dont think anyone who was deferred heard back yet. i havent heard of even one.
@crunchyflakes22 What school were you deferred from? Do you think it means anything that deferred applicants did not hear back yet. Admissions told me yesterday waves were sent out randomly. My son’s guidance counselor said the same thing. Idk what to think. My son is miserable seeing others in his school wear Syracuse shirts yesterday since they found out in the first wave they were in. I don’t think they were deferred though.
My son applied to Newhouse as his first choice and College of arts & science second. We have not heard of any deferred applicants being accepted yet .Its been a very long wait.

im hoping thats what it was. i was deferred from newhouse and then my second choice was arts and sciences and then ischool (i have a 1310 sat a 3.9 gpa and a lot of ecs) and i know people deferred from others and havent heard yet also. havent heard of one who has @resnick
I’m trying to stay positive but it’s very hard when your son is so miserable.
Unfortunately, my son doesn’t know anyone else that was deferred. If he did, he would probably feel a little better.
@resnick hey! i was deferred from the school of architecture. i was in the second wave of ED notifs which was hard, because my friends from my school heard back and i didnt. Then the first wave came out and i still havent heard!
