@resnick kids from my school have heard back. they did not apply to Whitman.
my gpa may be too low for Whitman - Wgpa 3.8. but 1510 SAT.
I did not put a second choice.
@2h5a00 Sorry that happened to you. My son was also deferred in the second wave of EDs from Newhouse. Seemed like everyone else in his school was accepted which was very hard for him. He didn’t hear back on Friday either. Were your friends accepted? Was your guidance counselor able to shed light on the process? Good luck to you.
@Jjay were you deferred in the fall? Did the kids that heard back all get in?
I was not deferred because I applied RD in October. the ones I heard from were accepted.

I have so many friends that don’t openly share their college lists. they don’t tell, I don’t ask 
Anyone get accpeted to VPA yet? And do people think that the waves are done by college? Or is it by acceptance/rejection/waitlist?
If it is similar process as last year then this week will be rejections and next week waitlist notifications and a few acceptances - bulk of acceptances should have been last week already and now the admissions team is monitoring acceptance responses, sending more selected offers as needed to stay on track to their targets. I doubt if there will be any further major rounds of acceptances going out.
Accepted to VPA: transmedia (film) on Friday. Weighted GPA: 4.28, 32 ACT. I received a 25k Creative Arts scholarship. Still waiting on financial aid info. Congrats to everyone accepted!
My son was accepted last Friday, but has declined his admission as of this morning. Hopefully this frees up a spot for a kiddo out there. He was college of arts and sciences. Best of luck to all of those still waiting!
Are all financial aid packages finalized? I got my acceptance last Friday, but I have received no need-based or merit-based scholarships.
@lemmesleep I believe that financial aid packages will come out in about a week. Merit based-scholarships were included in the acceptance letter.

D accepted to Whitman March 16th. No merit aid. We enjoyed our visit to SU but given the lack of merit aid, she has chosen a different large university. Best of luck to all. If Syracuse is your top choice and you didn’t hear back with an acceptance, take heart. There are a lot of great schools with passionate faculty eager to be your university.
