What happens when Dad works his butt off with OT to pay the balance per year. Will the increase in pay(OT) increase your EFC ? Seems counter productive.

Still haven’t heard and applied to the business school. Hoping to hear something back this coming friday or maybe even earlier.

Hi Happy Daddy,
My son is a Junior at SU and the truth is the more income you make the less you are likely to obtain as a result.
For years I had to balance what my business made as a result.
Unless your child gets a scholarship based on grades. But any grants or etc that your receive based on finances are review each year and the more you make, the less you get.
Yep.

I applied to the business school as well, and I haven’t heard anything

guys i need some opinions, i got into the new house program this past friday and i’m also accepted into the honors college at Arizona State and their walter cronkite school of journalism. i literally have no idea which to choose, so help me out here!

Cover two- my son got accepted to cuse. He has to get a 5k loan, no merit and we have to pay the rest . We are middle class and considered to have enough to pay his tuition. He has a 3.5 GPA and 31 ACT. We visited on our own but did not do a school tour nor did we interview. He applied pre med. I think that is held against you. S as decided against Syracuse as It is way too expensive. UMass is cheaper and closer.

nik795: I think the business students are hearing last from what I’m seeing and hearing. There’s a very competitive pool of applicants this year. Best of luck to you :)

I don’t get what determines scholarships… I didn’t think my stats were that high to qualify for some scholarships.

Lilmelonred–

Can you advise what kind of scholarship(s) you received, for what college and any of your stats?

does anyone know or have an idea of when the last wave will be for first year admissions??

I got a 8K chancellor scholarship or something… i got a 3.7 GPA and 1700 SAT and applied to engineering.

Accepted! Combined enrolment of engineering and arts and sciences. Plus a Dean’s Scholarship!

BU cas vs UCSB vs Syracuse Newhou

I wanna learn film production and media
UCSB s major is film&media studies heard its theory and write papers! The major is not famous But i love the location
BU 's communication is great but they put me in CAS
Syracuse the rank is lowest but new house and the major is the famous of this three.
And i already give up on the parsons the new school of design. design&management heard its hard to graduate.

I’m international students so A good internship(a good salary job) and social net is really important to me! please reply !Thanks a lot!

@ dancerchix Big Congrats was that actually today ? via email, MySlice ? or was it on Friday…very curious

@wavecortese waves are suppose to run into early April.
@linlol if you are looking for an internship, big cities are always a plus. Newhouse, although not in a big city, has tons of opportunities not just because its reputation, but because of its alumni network. Boston is a great city full of opportunities, especially since the city is filled with colleges. However, competition can be tough in Boston. I have a friend that goes to BU, and another one that goes to Syracuse, and they’re both off to a great future.

Should I have received my admissions decision by now? How are all of you finding out?

someoneeee give me opinions! asu walter cronkite VS syracuse newhouse i need to make a decision soon :(

@Nadroj you’re asking in a Syracuse thread, so it’s going to be bias lol. Of course, I would say Syrause Newhouse, because of its reputation and ranking. However, choose according to your own preferences. Maybe you want bigger class sizes, which would point you toward ASU, or you can handle extreme winter weather, which would point you toward Syracuse.

Still haven’t heard back yet! I applied to the Bandier Program and I am getting really worried since they only accept 25 students a year. I think that they would have filled all of those spots by now…

I was accepted in the first wave to the Whitman School of Management (Entrepreneurial Studies Program). I will be attending next year.
