Syracuse Regular Decision Class of 2017

Hey guys! Question: what did your MySlice pages say before acceptance, and what did they say after? I havent gotten a decision yet but I have this weird feeling like something about my page has been updated (can’t really remember if it’s what it looked like before) It says this right now:

Hey guys, I also haven’t received my notification, but after endless harassment of the admissions department, they told me that I am scheduled to receive my decision tomorrow evening. Hopefully the rest of you are in the same wave!

Hi, I don’t know if this is proven true for everyone but from my friends and my experience under financial aid if they/I were accepted it would say 2014 under year and “You have no financial awards at this time.” if they/I were denied or waitlisted it would say something along the lines of “there is no financial aid data available.” Not sure if this is a definite but it was true with NYU, UMich, and my friend got accepted into syracuse with the first line. Mine says “You have no financial awards at this time.” so I’m hoping. Anyone else know?

I got waitlisted for fall and accepted for spring and my financial aid says “you have no financial awards at this time.”

@rangercole24 most people haven’t really noticed an initial change in MySlice until after they received their email, maybe they program it this way to avoid spilling any secrets lol but hopefully we will know today!

No financial rewards means no go to Syracuse

Decisions will be forthcoming through email up to and including 4/12!!! Can u believe that??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Waitlisted for the business school. Received decision on Friday apparently it was in a different email account of mine. I’m sad :frowning: but oh well, I’ll agree to the waitlist

did anyone even get anything today?

Got denied from Syracuse 30 minutes ago. Oh well. I guess I can transfer next year /:

Good luck to all who’s still waiting :D

sorry to hear that yoleeski  i still didnt hear anything back yet, and they called me last monday and said i should know in a week and a half, so i was hoping today. guess more waiting for me.

I’ve been following this for a couple of weeks and finally figured out how to post. It said I wasn’t allowed to post for awhile…

ANYWHO:

I was wondered if the people who got wait-listed/accepted had an interview with admissions member. It says on the Princeton Review and collegeboard that they take interest in the school very seriously whenever considering applicants.

I applied to Newhouse and I had an interview whenever they came to my city. My SATs are lacking (1600 for all three w/ a low math score). I was hoping that my interview would help me out.

Also, do they admit people to the different programs they review applications. If so they almost seems unfair. Some schools have a limit to how many students can be in the program. I know whenever I visited Newhouse they said that around 200 students were admitted each year. So say the 200 students were already accepted in the first two waves of decisions…what about all of us April people, whose applications they haven’t even seen yet.

I may have this whole admission process wrong. I’ve just been a nervous wreck the past couple of weeks and talking about it really happens. Especially whenever I can possibly get answers.

@aidan I had an interview at the Lubin house in NYC and I also applied to Newhouse. I got wait listed to the college of arts and science, my second choice.

@jessie when did you hear back?

FINALLY received my decision email today. I was wait listed, and will not be accepting my spot on the wait list as I was already accepted into my top choice schools. I’m not very happy though, because it took them over a month to send me a poorly worded email about being waitlisted. Syracuse definitely needs to work on improving their decision notification process.

I am very fortunate to have been accepted into Syracuse University. Although I was accepted into my second school of choice, I was wondering how long and how difficult it would be to switch into the liberal arts school?

Got waitlisted last Friday! I’ve been on vacation so I haven’t been able to post. I’m actually very excited to be on the waitlist, because I took my SATs one last time on March 9th, and went from a 1640 to a 1730 (1770 superscore) and those scores only came back March 28th. So hopefully, adding new scores to my file will get me off that waitlist if spaces are available.

Would my eligibility for financial aid be affected by being waitlisted?

@Aidan I heard back in the third wave, march 22.

So is another wave of decisions supposed to come today?

I got accepted to syracuse school of arts and sciences may not attend. I’m thinking of taking a year off an applying in 2014. Will waiting a year in anyway affect my financial aid package or chance of acceptance?
