@Iscrewedupinhs11 Im actually going to the NYC college fair tomorrow at the Javits center to talk to some more admissions counselors and potentially add some more schools to my list.
But so far I have Tulane, UConn, SUNY Cortland, UMD College Park, Syracuse, URI, and Temple. Im considering Villanova also since they wait for spring grades and it would boost my application. UConn’s deadline is April 1st, so I got to get on that soon haha.
@SupaDupaFly5 It was because the time my Fall grades became available to send was when they had winter break, so the timing sucked. Unfortunately they also send out notifications on Friday’s which pushed it back further. It was a bummer that I couldn’t go but here’s to hoping for Fall 2016.
@transfer1124 yeah they really need to add more days during the week to when they notify applicants.
@transfer1124 if you live in New York, why not Stony Brook?
@Iscrewedupinhs11 I actually do live in New York on Long Island, but if I go to Stony Brook I’ll probably be commuting. I live around 45 minutes to an hour away without traffic. It’s like that borderline distance of should I dorm or commute. Also, off campus housing out in Port Jeff isn’t the cheapest either. But I really want to go away, plus Stony Brook is more for the sciences and I am a Political Science major. It’s an amazing school and I did look into it, but it’s a little too close to home. If my mom wants me to consider some schools that are closer, then Stony Brook is at the top of my list.

I called at 4 and they were closed which is weird because it says they’re open until 5 so I’ll try again tomorrow

@Iscrewedupinhs11 so another week of waiting. Well a least we now have a definite answer of when will starting being notified.
@SupaDupaFly5 @Iscrewedupinhs11 I just love how the website says at the end of February decisions will start to roll out ugh … Although with the big snow storms Syracuse got hit with this year, I know they’re behind even on freshman RD and that’s a priority. At least it’s not just Syracuse that’s behind because my friend who applied EA to SUNY Cortland (which is 20 minutes from cuse) got her application moved to RD and they still haven’t sent her a decision yet.
@transfer1124 yeah it is really lame how they don’t have better system for sending decisions out. One thing that I wished they would do is send them out all at once so people know when they will hear back by and plan accordingly.
I noticed with a lot my schools that some won’t even give me a decision until after the deadline has passed.
@SupaDupaFly5 Ugh, that’s so annoying. Especially if you’ve sent you application and credentials in months before the deadline. What schools are you still waiting for?
@transfer1124 RIT is probably the worse for getting back to me I applied on January 3rd it said they will notify transfer their decisions in 4-6 weeks. However it been almost 3 months I called they say "might"hear in another few weeks. I am still waiting on university of Rochester Lafayette, temple,pitt.
