Syracuse Transfer

@SupaDupaFly5 Oh man, that would turn me off from RIT so quickly. I am still waiting to hear back from all of mine, but I also didn’t apply as early as you did because I was hoping my Syracuse decision would come by now.

@transfer1124 yeah it has turned me off RIT I don’t really care if I get it in or not.

@SupaDupaFly5 Damn that’s such a bummer… well here’s to hoping for good things from the other schools!
Also I just emailed one of the people from the admissions transfer team about my deferral and if it means my spot is definitely held or not (I saw the woman who interviewed me this past weekend and she said to ask straight up and to CC her) … so hopefully in her response I’ll get a clue to when we should be hearing back

@transfer1124 Yeah however if they offer me like crazy aid I will definitely go :wink: and thanks I hope everything works out for you with Syracuse and the other schools.

Guess all we can do is wait…

@Iscrewedupinhs11 @SupaDupaFly5 looks like a lot of the RD students that were wait listed heard back today… hopefully that means we’re closer to hearing if they’re almost through the RD pool

@transfer1124 yeah it also seems like many of the people wait-listed had very high gpas and SAT scores.

@SupaDupaFly5 @transfer1124 Hmm

I’m a sophomore so I had enough college credits to where I didn’t have to send in my high school transcript or SAT scores… My college GPA isn’t much higher than a 3.0 though. I applied to arts and sciences

@transfer0815 @SupaDupaFly5 I just read through the thread… how did a kid with a 35 ACT get waitlisted…

@Iscrewedupinhs11 yeah it really werid how these high stats applicants were waitlisted

It makes me concerned that I’ll be rejected and this is my second time applying to Syracuse lol

@transfer0815 all we can do is hope for the best. However you were accepted already once so you have that in your favor

@SupaDupaFly5 @transfer0815 @Iscrewedupinhs11 this is coming straight from the mouth of the woman who interviewed me, but Syracuse is looking for the “well-rounded” student, so they might’ve had something with their ECs that didn’t appeal to cuse. When they mean well-rounded they mean a variety of activities (like a little bit of everything), so they may have had leadership positions and such, but maybe not sports and other things. Also I was told that Syracuse would rather have a kid who shows a lot of interest with stats that aren’t as up there, than accept someone who is using cuse as a safety for an ivy or a top 20 school.

Also if you were accepted once it helps your chances of being admitted again. Transfer students are subjected to a different admission criteria. Its basically how well you’re doing in college

@transfer1124 I guess that makes sense in the way ,but I also feel like that is not really fair for some people who just work really and wanted to actually wanted to go to Syracuse but seen as someone who using Syracuse as a safety.

@SupaDupaFly5 yeah i think its like a crap-shoot then

@transfer1124 yeah it seems like it

@SupaDupaFly5 @transfer1124 I feel like its a crap shoot as well lol my SAT and College gpa are great but hs gpa well…

@Iscrewedupinhs11 my hs stats definitely wouldn’t get me in, so it mustve been my other factors to get me in the first time

@ I guess we will find out within two weeks how random the admission process is at Syracuse
