They found out 2 years ago on a Monday @Nicwalk
I feel like honestly Syracuse probably just wants to surprise us. I can see them letting some people know today. If anything we’re more likely to hear the same way people did a couple years ago as opposed to last year because they probably rotate it or something.
Also @mikedunn thank you so much for taking time to help us out! You definitely know better than anyone how stressful this waiting is. I have a couple questions: How do you guys get used to that much snow? I mean I live in a snow area so I’m kind of used to snow but never that much. Does it take time? Also, if a student attends a particular school (like Newhouse or Whitman) how frequently do they tend to have classes in other buildings (besides CAS)?
I’m just here at school, wishing it were Friday lol hopefully we, like some of you said, get surprised today. The anxiety lol
They should send a voice acceptance letter over the phone that would be cool and genuine
Do you think theyve made all the ED decisions yet?
@RachelN98 I’m not @mikedunn but I’m also a Newhouse freshman. I remember reading these as a perspective student and thought it would be fun to be on the otherside. In terms of the snow, we got our first real snow only in the last two days, before that it was pretty gorgeous for most of the first semester. I can only speak for Newhouse but: Newhouse classes are obviously in Newhouse, and your CAS classes could be in virtually any building on campus.
Hang in there guys!! I know how nervous this whole process is. I know it’s cliche, but everything happens for a reason. Syracuse/Newhouse was NOT where I applied ED. Everyday, I am so thankful I didn’t get into my ED school because now I can’t see myself anywhere else other than 'Cuse!!
@NewhouseStudent1 I applied to Newhouse!!! What were your stats?
God I just out of curiousity went to look at myslice… my “admissions acceptance page” took a solid 45 seconds to load before telling me it was not yet available for my use. I don’t think my heart has ever stopped for such a long period im so nervous ugh
Also @NewhouseStudent1 Thanks so much for answering! I saw the snow coming to Syracuse on the forecast this week so I expected that would be brutal
If we were to find out today, it would be around 5, right? I think we’ll most likely find out Thursday and Friday.
AHH I just want this to be over with… Even if don’t get in, knowing is still better then not.
Current SU student here - I was one of those kids waiting for the email two years ago. Which was on a Monday, but it was also on the 15th I believe.
I’m in Whitman. If you have any questions or anything feel free to ask.
I applied for the bandier program and am not sure I’ll get it but I’ve done everything I could to maximize may chances
What percent acceptance does Whitman have @cuse1234 ? Also how do you like the program? Is it competitive, collaborative, independent or teamwork based? Are you intellectually challenged? And how many gen ed classes do you have to take? And how much is high level complex math involved? I applied ED to Whitman to double major in finance and marketing!! Thanks a ton
@Cuse1234 what were your stats when you applied?
If we was getting it today somebodies form would have changed
@cuse1234 Whitman is my top choice, so it’s great being able to speak to a current Whitman Freshman. How do you like the IMPRESS program? It sounded so interesting when I spoke to Dean Nicholson about it and when I read up on it. I wanted to see how freshman liked it as I know it’s still new so Freshman really are getting the full immersion so to speak.
@avareneeee It is extremely competitive and challenging on all levels. As a Freshman you have a huge presentation due at the end of the first semester that involves a team presentation, along with many other assignments. Whitman has specific requirements to graduate so along with your required business classes (marketing, finance, SOM, accounting, supply chain) you have to complete math classes such as business calc and writing along with it. It’s kind of complicated but they will explain it to better then I can.
Whitman since I got here has been getting increasingly harder to get into. When i applied it was probably around 25-30% acceptance but now I would assume it’s lower. Whitman also cut off transfers so there is no way to transfer into Whitman if you don’t go into it as a first semester Freshman.
@RachelN98 IMPRESS is interesting. Definitely adds another layer to your resume if you choose to include it. Kind of difficult to keep up with though because of the heavy work load.
Ahhh Boston U applicants just found out I’m soo anxious!!! I just want to know
I’m so nervous, I’m really beginning to doubt my acceptance. I had to send in a few extra documents last week for my financial aid profile, and it still says they’re missing. They absolutely should’ve recieved the documents by now, and I’m worried they haven’t processed them because they know I’ve not been accepted and they don’t want to bother. I called and they said to resend the documents if they’re still missing by Friday, but decisions are sent out on Friday. I’m worried the lady on the phone said Friday because she knows those who aren’t accepted will not bother to resend documents after recieving their rejection.
@cuse1234 I think your statement about transferring is incorrect. According to their website you have until the end of freshman year to submit an application to Whitman if you wish to transfer. They did cut off the option to transfer junior year after sophomore year, but there’s is still the option to start enrolling sophomore year.
