@gal2021 no they told me at my visit that for ED 2 they push that date back so you have more time to decide

@gal2021 I got deferred today too… But at least there is still hope. I would consider writing them a deferral letter explaining that you are still interested in this school and I also read on Huffington post and the New York Times that it is good to update them on any of your new accomplishments and not to lose hope (most importantly)!

@LaurynMV NYU was my top but now syracuse is. Who should I email saying that it is still my first choice?

I was upset to see the news that I was deferred, but I have not lost hope. I wanted to inform the admissions team at Syracuse that your school is still my number one choice and it would be an honor to attend your school in the fall of this year. Everyday I become more and more fond of the atmosphere, programs, and community that Syracuse has to offer me.

@gal2021, it sounds fine but I would really stress your interest in their school and then don’t forget to update them on any new accomplishments.
I applied first choice Whitman/ Newhouse and my theory is that both these schools either combined or separate are very competitive and maybe there was a high demand for them this year… I feel that if we had CAS as our second or third choice which is easier and more common to get into, then they would’ve considered us for that program but I feel like maybe we are actually being considered by our first choices along with a high # of other students and they just want to see your grades and new accomplishments to really determine who deserves a spot… so in other words don’t lose hope. I’m very happy that they are still considering me and that they took the time to go over my app.

NYU is still a college I’m considering and SU is my #1 as well but I don’t think that you have to email any other school telling them that they are still your top choice
@LaurynMV ok, yeah that makes most sense. My grades were really good for last semester (3.9 gpa for the semester) so im hoping thats what will do it. good luck!
@gal2021@laurynMV so sorry about your deferrals, it will all work out in the end! I wanted to know if you guys just put one top choice school or three choices? and did you just get deferred from your first choice and accepted to the others or deferred from all three?
