Syracuse University Regular Decision 2019

Anyone hear anything?

Nope. Son has not received email or my slice update.

Nothing here :frowning:

nothing

I bet they release friday… I’m curious where people heard it would be today.

I read it on niche/collegeprowler

Good afternoon everyone I called Syracuse University today and spoke to a rep and he said ALL decisions will be out FRIDAY March 20th.

Nothing here either. I am glad you called Dia2015, I was considering calling myself. Waiting isn’t that bad when you have some idea of when to expect the news, but having to constantly check and guess makes things worse. My daughter is in a few of her other top schools but is still waiting for financial aid offers from all of them - and has her heart set on Syracuse.

UCLA, Syracuse, and possibly the 5Cs all on the same day. RIP the cc server.

Does anyone know if syracuse takes weighted or unweighted GPA?

I would assume weighted GPA because that is what class rank is based off of.

But not all schools weight gpas/ have class rank

@BostonMama Fingers and toes crossed. Will let you know once we hear back…the wait is killing me.

Most schools will take the actual grades on your transcript and create a new, unweighted GPA. That way it’s fair to everyone.

I called the office and they said they take both…

The issue of weighted or unweighted GPA actually came up in my daughter’s interview. She was old that they take the official transcript and recalculate GPA off their own formula.

The truth is, unless they tell you (which most don’t) you really have no idea what their formula is for GPA, and you can really only compare yourselves with this forum and Naviance. I also believe that in their general admission stats most schools use either your UW or W GPA as reported when they report ranges. Any recalc is for their own internal understanding and determination of your strength of curriculum and achievement.

Ok so are we going to assume decisions are coming out each day? Or is it Thursday/Friday?

Thr website clearly states that decisions will be available March 23 after 7 pm est.

@sourmash‌ where does it say that?
