Syracuse waitlist 2023

Is it easier to get off the waitlist on one school vs the other? Like arts and sciences vs Newhouse?

I sent my letter to admissions (haven’t heard back yet). I didn’t know where to look for my regional representative.
(I was waitlisted by Newhouse as well)

I can’t believe there are still people who haven’t had a decision yet on RD - just looked on the RD 2023 thread. Which means that the waitlist is probably going to hear later rather than sooner…

I sent a paper copy of my LOCI to the admissions office. I saw somewhere that about 2000 people signed up for a spot on the waitlist last year, and that 1000 got accepted. So, hopefully, we all hear some good news soon! I wish y’all good luck!

I saw this too. I keep reaching out to my regional counselor and she told me to let her know if I was still interested every week which I do, however, she does not respond. Is this normal?

I got waitlisted to the Aerospace Engineering program with a 3.4 weighted GPA, 1190 SAT score: 550 Writing and 640 Math, and OOS student. Syracuse is my top choice. What do you think my chances are?

Hi, I also have been waitlisted for Newhouse for Newspaper and Online Journalism and wish to be accepted soon! I know that to be accepted off the waitlist as a Newhouse applicant is difficult, but I can’t help but feel hopeful if y’all get my drift:)

Hope everyone here hears back with good news!!

Just received acceptance off the waitlist! Sports Analytics in Falk. 98 GPA, (full IB diploma candidate) 29 Act. Sent LOCI to regional and main admissions office a few weeks ago.

@dlf2bny Congratulations! How were you notified about the waitlist acceptance ?

@Bel2023 Received a call from our NY regional rep and received an email of acceptance. With merit! Good luck.

@dlf2bny thank you so much for the response. Congrats on the acceptance and merit award! Hoping to get some good news soon also!

I was aware that they would be sending admissions sooner than June 1st, but I wonder how their system works if they do not know the exact yield rate?

It probably depends on the school - if they have had a lot of declines at one school they might be able to open the acceptances…

is it too late to send a LOCI to admissions now that apparently decisions are being made earlier than June 1st?

@awalltea347 How do you know decisions are being made earlier than June 1?

that is what is being said on this forum

Did anyone else get an email today saying thank you for your consideration and that they will notify you of any spaces open

@Lookingfor1234 i got one too!

I got one

Yes. It seems they sent to everyone on waitlist so they don’t lose their opportunity to enroll at another college by May 1st. Last year most of the waitlist decisions came out the first 10 days in May after the May 1st enrollment deadline…
