Syracuse Whitman School of Management vs Bentley

any thoughts? Bentley offers a Liberal Studies Major which essentially allows you to double major in business and liberal arts with no extra work. The campus is beautiful and is gaining prestige. How would you compare it to Syracuse Whitman School of Management? (job prospects, internships, quality of education, etc.) Which do you think is more prestigious academically, Syracuse Whitman School of Management or Bentley (US News&World Report 2006 rankings: 41 and 47 respectively). I'm curious as to people's overall impression of the 2 schools both in reputation and academic prestige. Thanks!

i would have to say it depends on what you are looking to do after graduation...are you planning to stay within the region? do you plan on going into business/IT after graduation? i graduated from bentley undergrad and went to syracuse for grad, both business related degrees. overall, i noticed that being a bentley graduate was viewed as more prestigious in the northeast area, but south and/or west of the US it was not as well known school. on the other hand, graduating from syracuse was more known throughout the country. i enjoyed both bentley and syracuse, both had a close-knit community and class quality was great. i do not regret either decision and loved my experiences at both schools. my career was definitely enhanced from both.

so again, it depends on what you would like to do with your degree after graduation and if are looking to move to other parts of the US. my opinion is that if you are looking for more specialization in liberal arts, i would recommend syracuse. bentley is hands down more of a business and IT-focused school environment.

hope this helps and good luck with your decision! :-)
