I am going to major in accounting or finance. I could really use some advice/insight about these two schools. Any negatives i might not be aware of? Thanks so much.

Congratulations! My S is now a junior at Gabelli at Fordham. When he came down to the final few schools, Bentley was very much in the mix. In the end, my S decided that he preferred a school that offered a full liberal arts curriculum – he wanted to have an escape valve in case he didn’t enjoy the business classes and he liked the idea of having friends with different majors/different interests. He also loves NYC and I’m sure that was a factor. But if you are 100% sure you want to study business and you don’t want Fordham’s large liberal arts core, then you may prefer Bentley. It is a personal choice. We looked carefully at both schools and you should get a great education at either place. You can’t make a bad choice. If you can, go to the accepted students day at both schools and hopefully that will help you to make a decision. Good luck.

thank you for the insight and yes i will definitely be attending accepted student day at both fordham and bentley. Also, how strong should i consider the factor; where you go to school, in this case nyc vs. boston, is most likely where i will get my job in accounting/finance. so the city you would rather work in…how much weight should i use this factor to help make my decision? Thanks!

When you visit Bentley I would ask them how strong their alumni network in NYC is and what NYC firms recruit at the school. Both Fordham and Bentley are well known and respected, especially on the east coast. It is great that you can re-visit the two schools. In the end, go to the place that feels right to you. Good luck.

i will definitely ask them that. thanks!
