T Discounts

The site says to go into your NUPay on myNEU, but there seem to be so many different options for fall semester T pass. Has anyone done this yet?

if you just want a t pass for the regular subway/bus lines you want the link pass. the other options (with the zones and all of that) are for the commuter rail.

If you are only an occassional T rider, the rechargable Charlie Pass may work. That discounts a one way ride from $2 down to $1.70.

Yeah getting a T pass isn’t worth it unless you’re using the train 4-5 times a week roundtrip. It doesn’t seem like a lot but I never traveled by train that much unless I was working or on co-op.

The passes that you are referring to are for the commuter rail. That’s really only useful for people that either 1. commute to school 2. are on co-op in different areas of massachusetts. So you don’t have to worry about it. like stated before, what you need is a charlie card, which is available in any T-station (so like ruggles)

No, they also have semester-long (so four months) discounted passes. They aren’t for the commuter rail. They are slightly less than four of the link passes (which are 60 dollars each for one month). However you have to buy them ages in advance. They do have discounted ones for the zones, but they include buses, rails, and ferries that don’t apply to the average person.

As people have said though, unless you are on co-op and are commuting to and from on the T five days a week, it’s not worth it to get a semester or a link pass. You are better off just getting a charlie card like everyone else.

got it, i’ll prolly just stick to the charlie card
