T-Minus and Counting Down

4 days till I get shiny cadet rank...lol.

congrats to all who just graduated. 4 weeks till i-day

it seems like yesterday it was 100 days left, and now in a blink of an eye, here we are.
Less then 4 weeks, unbelievable!
enjoy it while you can 2012!

happy birthday to hornet! unless you posted a fake birthday :)

Thank you. I assure you its real. ;)

Happy Birthday THguy and many more :) Do something special.

in 4 weeks exactly, we'll be inprocessing. that's insane. it seems like yesterday i was filling out forms, calling people, getting poked and prodded... time's gone by insanely fast.

haha, just wait. The "getting poked and prodded" isn't over yet. That will happen to you a lot for the rest of your life. For instance, I had an interview for a 3-dig position earlier this week. It reminded me of all those nomination interviews...

Oh, and happy b-day THguy!

lol. O the prodding keeps coming as you interview for higher positions. Interviewing is a great skill to have, military or civilian!

I would argue that interviewing is an essential skill to good progression. Work on that as much as possible!

I leave for the Academy in 25 days and 18 hours! I'm totally stoked!!! Oh, and also I leave for a Caribbean cruise tomorrow!

Enjoy it! I'm heading to Eglin AFB (FL) this weekend, so I'm pretty excited too. :)

[Not to mention jump later this summer!]

wow...only 23 days left until inprocessing day.

22 days...

Oh, shut up. :)

This fencersmother is growing very cranky!

It will be OK mom. A long year but OK. The boys will have each other, and they will be living a great adventure. In the mean time enjoy them and start getting ready for the long summer. You will have plenty of ways to follow what is happening; watching webguy posts, following things here, using Famnet and the yahoo group. You'll get a lot more support than if they went somewhere else I pomise.

Could you explain Famnet? And, specific search for yahoo group? Thanks ds. You're a wealth of information

Famnet is a listserv group approved by USAFA. There is a link on the AFA webpage. It allows parents to communicate in a forum similar to this, but is only open to USAFA parents. Not my personal favorite though :)

I prefer the yahoo parents group by class. The parents are all going through the same thing (well the kids are going through it, but the parents are sharing in the process). Gives you a place to vent when your kid hasn't written in a few days. You get to learn about feild day, beast etc...not that you don't get that here too. When you kid gets placed on Ac/Pro or Recondo and your afraid they are about to get kicked out you get a shoulder to cry on.

That said the interaction here is probably the best and most accurate. If a current cadet, grad or parent can't get you a quick answer here, I don't know where they can.

18 days everyone. when i first saw this thread and the online countdown, i thought to myself "wow...it seems like i will never see a 1 in front of that number." but now i have and it seems like i will never see a 0 in front of that number, even though there will be one in only 9 days!
