I've heard T-mobile is the worst provider on campus...but how is it that bad? it works off of AT&T so I would think it would be just as good as them, plus they have some non-roaming coverage so I'm sure it cant be WORSE than AT&T... Anyone with experience with t-mobile on campus?

sucks this topic has come up every time and the answer is always Verizon or Cingular nothing else

T-Mobile is separate from AT&T. Just go with VERIZON, trust me.

it's not worth the headache, just go with verizon.

t-mobile will work on central campus...so i say bring it if it's part of your family's plan and you plan on calling home alot...

but verizon is the best to communicate with other people at cornell/ithaca

I had T-mobile when I visited Cornell, and basically I had no way of communicating with my father while I was alone. It doesn't work around much of Ithaca, not in the dorms, and basically it's pretty much useless.

I just finished my first year at Cornell with T-Mobile. When I started, I didn't get any service on North Campus but I called the company and they said they were putting in a new cell tower. Sure enough, a few weeks later I started getting reception in my dorm. Still wasn't great, and there are some places (i.e. RPCC) where I got no reception at all, but it wasn't bad enough to switch providers. On Central Campus and in Collegetown it works great.
