Im probably getting a single and I’m looking to bring 32"-40" t.v. to my room.

Do colleges let you mount say plasma/lcd t.v.'s on the wall (screws in wall required?)

If not what’s best way to put a tv in your room

Before you bring it, make sure the college has cable. My son is a freshman and none of the dorms (student rooms or commons rooms) have cable, therefore, no TV. He actually enjoys there being no TV, except he misses seeing the news

Well...how big is your room going to be?? Because I have a single and its pretty small. I only have a 14 inch tv, and its pretty crowded in here.

32 to 40 inch is big, just make sure it'll fit. Also, what hazmat said, though be careful because some schools do regularly inspect rooms for safety or code violations, and you might be charged for the holes in the wall if they see them.

seriously a 40 inch tv for a dorm room is huge. Its going to take up a ton of the space in your room... You should definetly take a look at the measurements of the room before bringing something that big.

Dude that is a sweet idea - I wish I had one of those when I was living in the dorms. Now that I'm in an apartment, I've got my 42" Plasma and 500 channel digital cable, and love it.

No, but it's VERY unlikely that you can hang it on the wall. And having room for a a tv table is equally unlikely, especially since you don't know the demensions of your room, or even that you'll definately have a single. Not to beat a dead horse some more, but with the growing number of kids who are going to college, your chances of having a single get smaller every year. But, who knows, you may get what you want. If you do, singles tend to be very tiny, so you really may end up regretting bringing a huge tv that will take up your whole dresser top, leaving you no room for anything else. My roomie and I share a 14", and we have no complaints. The sound is clear, the picture, is great, and it doesn't swollow up the room, but I still wish I had more space. You think you'll find a place for everything, but it can be really hard sometimes. Trust me, bring a smaller tv and you'll thank yourself later.

I honestly can't stand a tv smaller than 24 inches. It makes playing games that require reading really difficult. Also if you have a bunch of people in your room, it is much easier to watch with a bigger tv. In any case, my friend's new xbox360 would look spectacular on that tv.

If you don't get a single, make sure you really trust your roommate and his friends, because there will be people coming in and out of your room all the time...
