I heard somewhere that last year, Taft over-enrolled their current freshmen girl class. Is this true? I have been strongly considering, applying to Taft this year (I am currently a 9th grade girl, and will be applying for 10th grade).
If they did over-enroll, then by how many?

I don’t have the stats, but the current enrollment school wide was 588 - the max they can hold in the auditorium. I think one lounge was converted into a double in a dorm. I wouldn’t worry about 10th grade. Normally the school enrolls about 2/3 of its class at 9th grade and the remaining third at tenth - so even if “over-enrolled” they will still have spots for promising tenth graders.

My D knew applications were up this year at Taft, and there were fewer spots for 10th graders (than 9th graders) when she applied applied but she really loved the school and completed her application. She was admitted and loves it.

You’ll never know what will happen unless you try.

thanks for the comment! i visited taft and i really love the campus, i will be applying this year.
