Who's applying? I am and it's definitely one of my top choices.

I am....but it's third on my list!
Choate or Hotchkiss is first/second (i don't know which one should be first)

then taft
then Peddie

Did you visit Taft, tingting? What did you think of it?

I loved Taft and it's architecture.
I was interviewed by Ms. Carbone...I don't really think she liked me :(
But overall....I love Taft and have nothing against it....it's just that I like Choate and Hotchkiss more! :)
How was your visit?

why don't you think she liked you?

Taft: My S is applying this year. We love the school and I agree with tingting about the architecture, gorgeous. It was the only school we visited where the interview preceded the tour.

I had a phone interview and it was probably my best one, but it was my third. It was the only interview I felt that I said everything I wanted to say, and I got a card in the mail from my interviewer, with a detailed message about our conversation, unlike my card from SPS which only had a signature.

tingting, what did you like specifically about Hotchkiss? I wish I would've applied there!

Jonathan,

Who was your interviewer at SPS cuz i got my card from SPS filled with details about my interview

My D visited in 2006 and hated it.....everyone was uptight and unhappy looking, and a teacher yelled at our tour guide for interrupting his class, not realizing it was a tour. The cafeteria lady said only the Asian kids were nice. After that, we crossed it off her list.

I'm shocked. Are you talking about SPS, garrett?

That is very strange, cgarett, cuz I got the exact opposite sense of feeling when I visited SPS. The tour guides were SO nice and students seemed to be really happy at SPS. :)

It was at Taft....maybe I am confused.... I don't know what SPS is......

Oh. SPS is St. Paul's School. Sorry, I didn't understand what school you were talking about because the post before yours was about SPS.

sorry, too!!!

By the way, she ended up attending Tabor, and loves it, although it was an adjustment to go from California to a boarding school in Mass.!

cgarrett,
my bad :)

jon, are you "settling" for taft? you seemed higher on harder to attend schools. i know that many have tried to talk you into thinking different.

NHfootballer. Taft isn't a very settling school. Its got a mid-20 acceptance rate, just a few higher from the ranks of AESD. The academics are great, not as good as AESD. There's no settling when applying to Taft.

I'm not going to say where Taft is on my list but, I liked it. It was my second interview out of 10 so i didn't nail it like I wanted to. I also had Ms. Carbone as an interviewer.

The only thing i hated about Taft was the floor in the admissions waiting area. It creaked unbelievably loud when you walked.

PATRIOTS ARE GOING TO KILL THE GIANTS TONIGHT!!!!!!

nhfootballer, I'm not "settling" for Taft. I love the school and I would be incredibly happy if I were accepted. It's definitely high on my list.

If I don't get into any of the schools I'm applying to, or dislike like them on revisits, then I have the option of applying late to other schools, applying to schools with rolling admissions (Ashbury College, Cranbrook Kingswood), or staying at my current school.

mcskittlz10- OMG I know...they really have to fix the floor in that waiting area, it's scared the s*** out of me! (s'cuse my language)

WOOHOO!!! GO PATRIOTS!!!!!

I think that I had my worst interview at Taft, but after the tour, I absolutely loved the school! :)

The words "settling" and Taft don't go well together! Taft is a top-tier school and any kid would be fortunate to be accepted!
