TAG approvals Nov 1-15.

Looks like UCSC decisions come out tomorrow. I’ll probably be up till 3:00am or later, so I’ll definitely check it multiple times. As the time gets closer to midnight I get a little bit more anxious.

People that already got their tags approved: What time of the day did you get the email?

Yes please let us know. For the ucscers could you please let us know what time you got your decision? I’ll probably be pressing F5 all day while checking my email on thurs lol!

Well, first check at 12:03am and the status still hasn’t changed from “Submitted - Under Review”. No emails either.

Nothing yet. :frowning: I’ll check around 2pm again.

Ahhhhhhhh what the hec UCSC

SERIOUSLY!
i think its a quarter past OMG MY WHOLE LIFE POSSIBLY DEPENDS ON THIS o’clock. sigh
oh well I’m still super excited woop woop!!! once again good luck guys!

Ouch, I got denied. Their reason:

“You have not yet completed enough foundation courses for us to determine your qualifications and preparation for your proposed major in the Jack Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE). The successful completion of major foundation courses currently in progress will provide additional information that the BSOE can use to evaluate your preparation. For this reason, I hope that you will consider applying to the UC
Santa Cruz campus and Baskin School of Engineering for fall 2013 through the general admissions process.”

I think this is absurd because I am currently finishing one foundation class right now, and the other one will be completed in the Spring 2013. In fact all my pre-reqs will be done by then. Whatever, **** them.

Tag accepted :-)))

Approved

This what it says on the UC website:

"Congratulations! Your admission to UC Santa Cruz for fall 2013 through the Transfer Admission
Guarantee (TAG) Program is conditionally approved.

Remember that you must submit the UC undergraduate application no later than November 30, 2012 for
fall 2013. If you make any changes to the course work you originally listed on your TAG application, be
sure to include them on your UC application. In addition, beginning in mid January, you will be required
to update your course information via the online UC Application Update. Changes to your course work
will only be reviewed when our campus evaluates your fall 2013 UC application for
admission.

All in-progress and planned course work must be completed with grades of ‘C’ (2.0) or better."

TAG approved yay!!!
Of you taggers, who’s planning on attending?
CONGRATS!

I’m definitely going to UCSC! I’m going to go visit the campus once this semester is over (about 4 weeks).

Mermaker, the campus is fantastic :-)

Congrats all, looks like they were released around 2:30 PM pacific time correct?

@physloop 24 don’t sweat it. People get TAGs denied yet accepted all the time during normal apps. I’m actually expecting to get denied from Davis because I am not a full time student right now. I gave them an explanation but I don’t know if it’ll work.

Yeah UCSC has an amazing campus, I got to check it out my senior year of HS but decided to go the CC route instead.

Emprex you going to SC?

I got accepted as well. To my understanding this doesn’t mean you will get in. Don’t risk it keep your GPA’s up around 3.5 and get all your classes done.

Oh and on the campus, its beyond amazing. Fell in love with it when I went to visit.

Mrrandall are you attending SC?

UCSC tag accepted :)

Hey physloop24, they did the same thing last year, don’t sweat about it. Basically, the only people who get into CS/Baskins with TAG have a perfect GPA and all pre-reqs done when they submit TAG, or something. Anyways, I got the same message from then back then, then ended up getting in during regular admissions. Then turned them down and went to Berkeley instead. :> And I’m pretty sure everyone else with a denied TAG to UCSC/engineering last year has a similar story. So don’t let it get to you, chances are you’ll get in regardless. :)

I tagged to Davis and won’t find out until tomorrow. Basically as long as you maintain the GPA they ask (it’s different for each UC/major) and meet the requirements, then you’re guaranteed. Think of it as UCSC did their part, now you have to do yours.
