Yes I am, however I took a class at my community college during high school for no reason and failed it. So that shows up on my college transcript, I guess
Then it’s okay. Explain the F in your UC TAP. If you cleared the GPA requirement (which you have) and any other specifics according to the TAG, it should be fine.
Yeah I would only really recommend AR for those with a bunch of F’s or D’s. Also, I don’t know how long ago the OP received the F, for some schools they only give AR for F’s or D’s that were given like 3-5 years prior and I don’t know when they took the class. But one F, with nothing but A’s since doesn’t seem like something to worry about other than stating a reason for the F.
@topchoiceschool Well, if you want to get F off and bring your GPA up to 4.0 (more for personal reasons), you can see if the CC where you got the F offers academic renewal. AR allows you to expunge the grades from either select calendar terms or by cherry-picking courses. Since it’s just one course from one term either should suffice.
However, if a CCC offers AR, each has its own rules and sometimes you can only get rid of the course if you go back to that college and take more classes (which won’t work for you, probably). However, as it was a CC, the odds are you can fill out a form and ask for the F to change to AR and do nothing else.
There is a time frame from when you got the grade to when it can switch - usually one-two years, plus you need a few minimum units completed with a minimum GPA, all of which you have.
So if it’s doable, you could probably get the F off the GPA in a few weeks.
If you submitted TAG, just note in additional comments that AR is forthcoming.
Then when it reverts by Nov, you would put AR in place of the grade in the application.
Google the CC and academic renewal. If they offer it, the form will be online, usually. It’s certainly worth exploring, more for pride of place, as I don’t see the one F hurting you based on your current GPA.
