i was kind of curious why TAG people would be rejected too…

i think maybe some of them just checked the box for TAG on their application but didn’t necessarily fill out the paperwork with a counselor? I once called UCSD and they said the paperwork was necessary so maybe that’s what happened.

anyway, that’s just my guess

<---- used tag with a 3.26 and accepted to uc davis and ucsc (and UCLA without a tag)

There is no TAG contract anymore for UCSD. You just have to indicate TAG and IGETC on your application and complete the IGETC by the time frame given while maintaining above a 3.0. That is what I was told by my counselor at CC, the transfer advisor at my CC, and also UCSD admissions office back in November when I was filling out my application. If they try to state that my TAG is not valid wo/ the contract then I will raise hell because that was how TAG used to be. They didn’t want to deal with all the paperwork anymore so they went to this new method. This the link to the TAG requirements…notice that the contract is optional (in bold letters).

[Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) 2009-2010](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/transfer/tag.html)

There’s more to it than that. Look at the link you provided.

“Both UC English courses and the UC math course must be completed by the end of Fall term prior to Fall admission, and by the end of Summer term prior to Winter admission.”

Did you meet this criteria?

Sorry, my explanation was misleading. You must not only complete the stated earlier but all the criteria included on the link. There is also a brochure available on their website that explains this more clearly…but yeah I did meet all the criteria. I made sure when I was applying to try and find any sort of little minute requirement that would null my chances for a TAGuaranteed application.
