I plan on using TAG for a type of safety net. Are all the requirements on assist for the particular major you're applying for required to be completed in order for the TAG to work!? I will be short two classes by the end of Spring '13 and well over 70 semester units

depends on your major

Anyone with a specific answer based on past experience??

The requirements are different for every UC.

@UCSD all you need is igetc but it doesnt guarantee you get your major. You can look up w/e college you are thinking of at that link.

Each school and major has specific TAG requirements. You need to look them up on each UCs website.

Let’s say I can accumulate my gpa to a 3.7-3.8 range with about 3/6 or 4/6 of my major prerequisites by spring? Will I have a decent shot?

Each school is different in it’s requirements. You must meet all requirements for school to be eligible for TAG. Click the link Nitole posted and see what UCs you will be able to TAG to (yes this requires careful reading).
