Take AP Chem. w/o taking the course?

So, I wasn't able to take a lot of ap classes (explained it in my essay) and I am only taking 4 courses this senior year.
I was planning to take ap physics but it was full.

Can I take AP chem with just regular chem.?
-I really love chem but i had to take physics(regular) which was kinda a mistake b/c it is easy.
-I had an A+ for regular chem and I'll be majoring in ChemE.

Can I self-study using like barrons?
Or is AP physics B easier to take?
-would it have the same effect to take AP physics for my major (ChemE)?

I'm also taking the 4 ap that im enrolled in (stat, psych, lit, gov)

You won’t be able to take AP Chem with just regular chem. I took honors chem last year, and a lot of stuff was not covered in that class like reaction rates, molecular orbital theory, hybridization, equilibrium, etc. AP Chem typically goes more in depth in some of the topics I just listed, but I don’t see why you couldn’t self study as at least 85% of AP Chem is covered in a high school chemistry class.
