Take 'em in January?

Hey fellow CC'ers, I'm wondering about your thoughts on taking the January SATs (as a senior):

I've first taken the SATs in 8th grade for the Johns Hopkins talent search. After doing halfway decent on that, the parents have basically made me keep practicing for the SATs hoping that I'd be ready to pump out a 2400 by the time junior year approached. All they really did was burn me out (they admit it themselves), but I was able to get a 2110 (670R, 730M, 710W, 10E) last January.

I thought wasting four years of my life on the SATs could amount to better, so I studied even harder and got a 2080 for November (690R, 720M, 680W, 9E). Superscored, the two make for a 2130. Not bad, but since I'd like to make up for my somewhat lacking GPA, I'd like to hit 2250+. I honestly think I have the capabilities to test again; money isn't an issue.

However the question is, do I test again? How do colleges see this (they don't see my 8th grade score, for that matter)? Will my scores drop? (most of my colleges I'm applying to will take my jan SATs if I take 'em)

Practice tests are showing 720-760/section. Hell, they almost always have....

Problem is, I took the PSATs in freshman year, sophomore year, and junior year; my junior year was my worst score (especially when i needed it!!!), and I'm trying to figure out if I'll repeat that, and/or be burnt out.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this. Thanks!

10char bump!

you’re a senior… first ask yourself if your score will make it in time for your apps?

Did that, and for the colleges on my list, they do.
