Hello. I am already taking AP Statistics. I would like to know which one I should do. Thank you.
I’m guessing you’re substituting AP Stats for Precalc. I would actually not do that. Precalc is a core math class that literally everyone takes in high school. It would be better to take both of those in school. Self-study AP Stats, or take AP Stats online.
@haru67 hey I’m actually going to 10th grade but I was thinking of taking AP stat 10th and taking precalc online to take Calculus BC 11th. But honestly taking Spanish 3 online would be tough
I say Spanish 3 in class and pre-calc online.
@moviestar505 hey thanks for the response! I was guessing precalculus and AP stat at school because i would perform better in precalc than Spanish 3 and also most colleges I want to go to only need 2 years of Spanish so I’m not sure. What made u think that?
Pre-calc and AP Stats would be doubling up on maths and Spanish 3 is a class that benefits from face to face interaction. Also most colleges would prefer 3-4 years of a foreign language.
@moviestar505 I think it’ll be easier to do Spanish 3 online since precalc is a fundamental for calculus
drop ap stats and take both in class
Drop AP Stats and take both in class
I’d say to choose whichever one you tend to have a harder time with to take in class. Also, make sure that you’ll have resources to help you with the online class if you start having a hard time.
How are you doing in AP Statistics so far? I’ve taken a math and Spanish class online before. For me, math was easier to learn online rather in school, but it really depends on your learning habits. Spanish really kicks up in difficulty once you get to Spanish 3 in my school, so I recommend taking it at your school too. All in all, it really depends on how you learn.
Since learning a foreign language involves speaking and interacting with others, I would imagine it’s easier in person (in class).
@snlwfairy17 @bopper @sparksparkler I must take AP Statistics without a doubt. I am not dropping that at all. All I am asking is if I should take Precalculus or Spanish at school, worst case I can just take Precalculus and not even do Spanish online since most colleges only need 2 years but recommend 3. Also @sparksparkler I am taking AP stat next school year (augusts 2017) so I don’t know how it will be, but share with me how taking Spanish 3 online was like. Thank you.
@MYOS1634 that’s very true but I am not good at foreign language and much stronger at math
@Ritvik312 I have not taken Spanish 3 myself, but I have only heard this information from my friends. I decided to drop Spanish once I completed Spanish 2 online. From that experience of taking it online, it was hard to keep track of vocabulary and grammar structure so I recommend taking notes by hand and actually learning the material. It’s easy to cheat on these online tests, but I highly don’t recommend it if you’re planning to go into Spanish 4 and AP Spanish. By the way, what grade are you in? Are you taking the online course using FLVS?
@ritvik312 I’m going into 10th grade and I am not planning to do AP Spanish, I just wasn’t sure if I needed to do Spanish 3 online since some colleges like 3 years of foreign languages but the colleges I want to attend only need 2 but they still recommend 3. And I’ve heard of FLVN and that’s for floridian students but I don’t live there so i use something else
@Ritvik312 I’m also going into 10th grade! If they recommend 3 classes though, then I suggest doing Spanish 3 (maybe even Spanish 4 to exceed their expectations).
@sparksparkler nice! so Spanish 3 online?
@Ritvik312 If you’re REALLY good at Spanish and memorizing, then go for it. In my opinion, math online for me was easier (took Algebra 2). I have a friend who took Pre-Calculus online and finished it within 2 months, but had NO recollection of whatever he learned so I recommend taking notes of how to do the problems and write down 3 examples for each type of problem. Basically write down anything important. I took Pre-Calculus freshman year and I got a B (was too lazy to work), and I would say that it would be easier online.
