Take SAT I or retake MATH II?

I got a 730 on my Math II in June. I was hoping for an 800 (aren't we all?) but after 2 hours of subject tests I was burnt out.

Here's my dilemma: I have one test date left, October 1, before I send in my EA apps. I've never taken the SAT I, but according to my ACT score I can expect a 2200-2300 on it. I know the tests don't directly correlate, but those numbers are from the official CB study on people who took both tests. I could also retake the Math II, with the (hopeful) outcome of a much higher score.

I'm applying EA to Michigan (in state) and MIT. Which test should I take to give the best app to these two schools?

Mich neither requires nor recommends SAT IIs; if sent they may be given some minor consideration and most who apply and are admitted to Mich do not submit SAT IIs… If you already have good ACT, you don’t need anymore testing for Mich. For MIT your math 2 score is a little low but sounds like your ACT may be OK and thus you don’t need SAT. Regardless, be aware that MIT accepts through Nov tests for early action so you have two test dates left. If you take Nov test just name it as one of the free sends so it gets sent immediatrly when scores are released.
