Taking 5 classes? [Revelle]

I'm not sure if I want to major in Biochem/chem or Electrical engineering...

The 4 year plan states if I take EE I should take ECE15 my first quarter. The biochem/chem plan is basically all GE. So the wise thing to do is go the ECE15 route, right? Just in case I want to stick with EE so I won't fall behind in classes?

Anyways, my planned schedule is this:

Chem 6A
Math 20B
LIHL 115 (Korean heritage & language)
HILD 7A (Not sure though... what is the best American cultures class?)
MUS 1A (music)

Not sure how hard this will be...

I've played piano for 2 years, so I definitely want to keep going. I know a ton of music theory, and MUS1A sounds kind of easy from its description!

I can read and write Korean, but only speak and understand a small amount.. I really look forward to learning more Korean, so I want to take that class.

Chem, math, and American cultures seems like the hardest classes.

Does this schedule look manageable? I'm also signed up for a work study...

I took 6 AP classes in my senior year and I found it to be a piece of cake. I passed each class and every exam, but I'm not sure how it holds up to college.

EDIT: I got a 3 on calc BC and it says I got 2 units for math 20B. Can anyone explain further what this means, if possible, or am I just an idiot?

a 3’s not as good as a 4 or 5, which would net you full credit for 20B and guaranteed entrance into 20C.

When you take Math 20B, it will only give you 2 units instead of 4. Anyway, you can try out your schedule for a couple weeks and if it’s too hard, you can always drop a class.

Coming from a fellow incoming revelle freshman that’s asked a bunch of people pretty much the same question, I heard that language classes are not a good idea to take first quarter, or at least during the “freshman warm-up period”. Also I was looking into the same MUS1A class and saw that in total there are 16 seats for all six or so class times. Depending on your registration time, you might not even have the option of taking it. At least, I’m not entirely hopeful for a spot.

If you’re not so sure about majors, taking a freshman seminar in one of them (as a fourth or fifth class) sounds like a good idea.

How many Freshman Seminars can I take during my Fall semester?
Can I take 2?
I can’t decided which to take.

^Yeah. Two is fine.
