I recently had really bad family issues out of my control that seriously cut into my time available to study for exams. Right now I have a computer science class (counting for major) that I might have to take incomplete. My estimate is that if I go ahead and take the final, I will get a B+ to B- for the class. My grades are currently 3.8+. In the grand scheme of things, do you guys think I should go ahead and take it and receive a B+ to B- and possibly have my GPA drop or take it incomplete and receive an A eventually? The only difference for my graduate school admissions application is a code that says "J1" will always be there next to the grade, which means that an incomplete was changed to a letter grade. Thanks!

Take final to get B/B-…do not retake it…It does not matter if GPA lower than 3.8…(1 course B would not lower that much)… Even if 0.1-0.3 lower still GPA 3.5+ consider very decent good grade…Do not waist time and there is no guaranteed A whatsoever!!
