Taking a semester off for medical reasons... hurt my chances?

Hi, I recently posted in a different forum about applying to school after completing my undergraduate degree and some people seemed to think that my taking a medical leave of absence for a semester will hurt my chances of getting in... This sounds suspect. Is it true? How much will it affect me if so?

I don’t know what those other people were smoking, but ignore them. Take a semester if you need to. If you feel it’s really a big thing, you can note in your SOP that it was for medical reasons. But I don’t think that’s necessary. I took a semester off to travel, and didn’t even mention it. I got multiple admits. You’ll be fine.
